One Day Consultation on Implementation of Right to Education among Minority communities

A One Day Consultation on Implementation of Right to Education among Minority communities was organized by the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR), in Collaboration with Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, Barpeta and Human Rights Protection Forum, Kalgachia, Barpeta Conference Hall, Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, Barpeta Assam, on 8th April 2017.

This event mainly aimed at providing a platform for discussion of various problems being faced by minority communities in getting their children educated, and also present mechanisms to generate awareness on right to Education among the communities.

The function was attended by former Chairperson ASCPCR, Mrs. Runumi Gogoi, Mr. Thaneshwar Malakar, DC, Barpeta, Rubina Siddiqui, Member, Andaman and Nicobar UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Mr. Abduss Salam, President HRPF and Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmad, principal, Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia, among others.

The technical session included discussions on, Child Protection Issues, Challenges and Protection Mechanisms in Assam and how to address them at the Community level. Child Protection Issues among the Minority Communities and how to address them at the Community Level. Laws, Acts and Constitutional Provisions for protection of rights of the children with a special focus on minority communities.
