Visit to the Red Light area at Pan Patti in Silchar town in Cachar to inquire about use of minors in prostitution business.

The ASCPCR chairperson, Dr. Sunita Changkakati, accompanied by Additional SP Cachar, Ramandeep Kaur, Technical Consultant Sri Rajiv Kumar Jha, and members of DCPU Cachar, visited the Pan Patti area at Premtala in Silchar town in October 2017, to assess the living condition of the prostitutes there and especially to find out if no child is being used for prostitution violating Child rights under various Acts.

The Chairperson and the team discovered that there were no minors being used for business there and also the women present there assured the team that they themselves are cautious over the fact that no child is brought there for prostitution.
