Awareness and Capacity Building Workshops

1. The Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in collaboration with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights organized district level workshops on combating child trafficking in the district headquarters of Baksa, Barpeta, Chirang, Dhubri, Darrang, Goalpara, Kokrajhar and Udalguri. These workshops were conducted as part of the NCPCR’s campaign on “Prevention and Combating Child Trafficking 2.0 in 100 Bordering and Adjoining Districts of India”. The schedule of the workshops conducted in in 2024 is provided below-

2. 3. On the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, an orientation workshop on Child Rights with special focus on Child Trafficking was organized by the ASCPCR for the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Members in the year 2021. The workshop was chaired by Shri Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council. Chairperson of ASCPCR Dr. Sunita Changkakati, Members of ASCPCR Dr. Pilu Hazarika, Smt. Rupa Hazarika, Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah and Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta were among the key speakers of the workshop.
4. The Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) organized five Zonal Level Sensitization Workshops in the state covering various districts, with special focus on Child Trafficking towards the later part of 2017, in Collaboration with District Child Protection Units and supported by UNICEF, Field Office for Assam.
