A team of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights consisting of Members, Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah, Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar accompanied by the District Child Protection Officers of districts Cachar and Hailakandi, visited the laborers’ settlement area of Ainayakhal tea estate in Hailakandi district and held discussions with the residents and the plantation management authorities.. The objective of the visit is to take stock of various challenges in the district regarding promotion and protection of child rights.
A group of Members of Tripura Tribal Association also met the Members of ASCPCR during their visit to the district.

As part of an institutional monitoring visit, a team of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights consisting of Members, Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah, Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar visited the child care institution Shakti Sadan run by Woodichee in Hailakandi district.

A team of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights consisting of Members Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah, Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar accompanied by the District Child Protection Officers of Cachar and Hailakandi districts visited the office of the Lala Block Development Officer. A meeting was convened in the BDO's office to discuss about children's issues which are of pressing concern in the area. Circle officer of Lala Revenue Circle, Block Development Officer, Lala Block, Block Level officials from Health and Education Department, Child Development Project Officer, other officials and representatives of the Tripura Students Union were present in the meeting to discuss in detail about various problems of the block and strengthening the coordination among the departments.

A team of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights consisting of Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah, Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar accompanied by the District Child Protection Officers of Cachar and Hailakandi districts visited village Garod Punji under Katlicherra circle which is inhabited by the people from the Halam community. The team of ASCPCR interacted with the villagers to get insight into the grievances faced by them to access basic facilities such as health, education and clean drinking water. It is to be noted that apart from a missionary school, there are no other schools and health centers in the village.

A team of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights consisting of Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah, Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar accompanied by the District Child Protection Officers of Cachar and Hailakandi districts visited S K Roy Civil Hospital in Hailakandi district. The team inspected the Department of Obstetrics, Paediatrics, NICU, PICU, NRC of the hospital. Based on the inspection a subsequent meeting was held with the Hospital authorities and appropriate recommendations were shared by the team of ASCPCR. Specific instructions were given to restrict unauthorised entry of male persons to the obstetrics ward, based on observation of the team of ASCPCR.

The team of Members of ASCPCR Shri Phanindra Bujar Baruah, Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar accompanied by the District Child Protection Officers of districts Cachar and Hailakandi met Shri Nisarg Hivare Gautam, IAS, District Commissioner, Hailakandi to share the findings of the two days visit to various places and institutions of the district. After hearing the findings and observations of the team, the Respected District Commissioner instructed the concerned Departmental officials to take immediate action accordingly.
