Today (11th June 2025), a team from the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights , lead by Dr. Shyamal Prasad Saikia, Chairperson , Smt RilanjanaTalukdar, (Myself) Member assisted by Dibya Jyoti Kalita, Accounts Consultant visited Keotpara Village, Kalita Chuburi of Darrang District related with the case of sexual abuse of a 12 year old minor boy.

During the visit, the team interacted with the victims parents, relatives and gathered neighbours and also gave encouragement.

The Chairperson of ASCPCR praised the prompt legal action taken by Darrang police against the culprit involved in the crime and also counseled the minor to continue his studies with dedication and aim high for becoming a responsible citizen of Bharat.

The team also visited a Rehabilitation centre (Revive Rehabilitation Centre) in Darrang District as a part of Monitoring mandate where the team interacted with the drug and Substance addicts and the Chairperson of ASCPCR motivated the addicts to be mentally very very strong and overcome the social menance of Narcotics and Substance Abuse.

The ASCPCR team was assisted by Smitakshi Baruah, ACS, CWC Chairperson Dr. B. Hazarika, DCPO Gautam Saharia and other officials.
